What we collect
Pay profile: the rank, years of service, ZIP code, and dependency status you enter into calculators is stored in your browser (localStorage) so the Site remembers you, and in your account if you create one. It is planning data you chose to enter — we never receive it from the government. Account data: if you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and login credentials; we do not see your password. Contact messages: if you use the contact form, we receive what you send, including your email address so we can reply. Email updates: if you sign up for pay and PCS updates, we store the address you give us, which page you signed up from, the date, and the wording you agreed to. If you signed up from the PCS checklist we also store the move date you entered there, so reminders can be timed to your move. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal information. We do not ask for, and you should never enter, your Social Security number, DoD ID number, banking details, or myPay credentials anywhere on this Site.
Advertising and cookies
The Site is supported by advertising served by third-party vendors, including Google. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com.
Affiliate and partner links
Some links to outside companies are affiliate or referral links, which means we may be paid if you use them. Every paid link is labeled where it appears — you never have to guess. Paid links are placed through affiliate networks, currently CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), whose tracking cookies record that a visit came from this Site so the referral can be credited. Those cookies identify the referral, not you personally, and we never pass your name, email, or profile data to a partner. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings at any time; doing so does not change anything you see on the Site. Read CJ's own notice at cj.com privacy. Analytics and improvement
We review aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns (which pages are visited, which copy variants perform better) to improve the Site. These measurements are not tied to your identity.
Data retention and deletion
Browser-stored profile data stays on your device and can be cleared from your browser settings at any time. To delete an account and its saved profile, use the contact page and we will remove it.
